Run stronger

The app for runners who strength train

How we use your details Ask us a question

  • One plan for running and strength. No more juggling separate programmes.

  • Adapts when life happens. Holidays, missed sessions or a week off unwell? Your training adjusts accordingly.

  • Makes your fitness data useful. Smartwatch data is combined with workout history to help you train at the right intensity.

Lifting that fits around your running

Strength sessions go around your hard runs, so your legs are ready for the runs that matter. Your lifting changes with your running plan, getting heavier as you build and easing off before your race.

Customise your strength sessions or follow the plan

Swap an exercise, show it less often or never show it again. Choose exactly what equipment you have, down to every dumbbell or plate weight.

Pick up from where your current training is

Connect your watch and Pacent reads your recent runs from it. No watch? Enter your weekly distance and your longest run in the last four weeks.

What a new plan starts from: weekly distance, the longest run in the last 30 days and the last two weeks of running

Eases off when you're sore

Tell Pacent where you're sore and how bad it is. Your strength sessions leave out the exercises that work that spot, a sore leg eases your runs and Pacent asks how it feels each morning and adjusts your training to match.

Your phone or your watch

Record runs on your phone step by step or have Pacent send your workouts to your watch. On a Garmin or COROS watch, your runs and strength sessions record as the watch's own activities. Apple Watch support is planned. For strength, we recommend following along in the app, particularly if you'd like guidance on technique, with an animated demo and step-by-step instructions for each exercise.

No AI in the app

Your plan comes from fixed rules based on sports science, so the same information always gives you the same plan. Pacent tells you why it changes a session. We're continually pulling in research from various studies and tweaking our algorithms to ensure you get the best possible guidance to help you with your fitness goals.

Why we built Pacent

Phil loves running. What he didn't love was trying to find an app that combined running and strength training.

Now, Phil's always been a bit of an "if it doesn't exist, I'll make it myself" kind of person. So when he couldn't find the training app he wanted, he started building one.

And that's how Pacent was born.

We're Phil and Claudia, a software developer and a personal trainer. We're building Pacent ourselves and we want to shape it with the runners who use it.

FAQ

When will Pacent be available?

We're currently developing and testing Pacent. We're launching on Android first, followed by iPhone. Join the waitlist and tell us which phone you have and we'll let you know when Pacent is ready for it.

How much will Pacent cost?

Your first 30 days are free. After that, Pacent is a monthly subscription you can cancel at any time. We're still working out the price, but we're aiming to keep it affordable and we'll tell you what it is before anyone signs up.

Do I need a smartwatch or fitness tracker?

No. You can record your runs on your phone with the Pacent app. However, connecting a compatible device will allow Pacent to use additional information, such as sleep and recovery data, to personalise your training further.

Which smartwatches and fitness trackers will Pacent work with?

We're working towards supporting popular devices, including Garmin, Apple Watch, Fitbit, Polar, COROS, Samsung Galaxy Watch, Oura and WHOOP. We'll confirm the full list of compatible devices as development progresses.

Do I need to be an experienced runner?

You don't need to compete or chase personal bests, but Pacent is designed for people who already run regularly and consider running part of their fitness routine. Whether you run for enjoyment, fitness or to prepare for races, Pacent helps you combine running with strength training. You don't need previous strength training experience.

Does Pacent use AI?

No. Pacent plans and adjusts your training with rules based on sports science research and it tells you why it changed a session. We use AI tools to help us write the code, but there's no AI in the app itself.

What happens when I join the waitlist?

We'll email you a link to confirm your address. After that, we'll send you occasional updates about our progress, let you know about opportunities to test Pacent and invite you to share your thoughts on future features. There's no obligation to subscribe when we launch.
